UBQ is taking our story to the people!
In celebration of Earth Day (or as we like to call it, Earth Day Every Day), We are excited to announce, “The World of UBQ”, our first public awareness campaign communicating the benefits of UBQ material and applications directly with consumers.
New creative content: “Casting Call” video and “Made of Waste” animations and posts
On our website here, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn channels, you will find a delightful animated online video, “Casting Call,” the beginning of a series of shorts where waste, plastic, emissions, and UBQ products come to life, designed to educate, inspire, and call people to action. The characters take turns auditioning to tell the UBQ story, with specific messages about how using the “wonder material” UBQ in more products delivers what we call a “climate three-fer”: less reliance on oil-based plastic, less trash going to landfills, and avoided greenhouse gas emissions, concluding with the signoff, “For some things there’s recycling. For everything else, there’s UBQ.”
Accompanying “Casting Call” will be a series of social posts with creative representations of real-life Made with UBQ™ products, literally shaped out of waste. “Sneaker,” “Doghouse,” “Office Chair,” “Hanger” each reflect real, tried and tested applications of UBQ’s sustainability additives and materials replacements where virgin plastic made by drilling more oil has been the standard up until now. These and other products are available from brands and retailers in the US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.
What the people told us: make sustainability easier, and make it now
In our global research with consumers and the public, you told us that you were eager to do your part to help manage the climate and waste crisis and restore some balance to our environment. But that sustainable product solutions weren’t always easy to find, it was hard to compareproducts, and too often companies were spending more time talking about the far-off future than delivering sustainability benefits right now.
We’ve listened, and we’ve acted. “The World of UBQ” tells the story of how UBQ transforms everyday leftover garbage into a substitute for fossil-fuel plastics that acts just like plastic – it even blends with it – in hundreds of proven uses. And UBQ is itself recyclable, taking more trash out of landfills and incinerators, for less CO2 and methane going into our atmosphere. Unlike many ‘green’ products with carbon-neutral claims, UBQ, in the right proportions, can help brands create carbon-negative products.
A climate three-fer: reducing oil-based plastic, waste, and GHG emissions together
Products made with UBQ are a win/win/win for the environment. We can replace fossil-fuel-based virgin plastic and slow-to-regenerate wood and composites with UBQ in popular products.
To list just a few:
Consumer and Home & Garden: indoor and outdoor chairs and tables, storage containers, office furniture, hangers, footwear, pet houses, shelves, garbage and recycling bins, toolboxes and tool handles, plant containers and garden supplies, garden sheds and storage, composting units
Building & Construction: decking, fencing, flooring, carpet backing, door and window frames, piping and tubing, siding & roofing materials, composite, bricks
Automotive: floor mats, console units, storage boxes, parts and accessories
These are available from well-known brands and retailers: Keter, Rimax, Crescent Garden, Orangebox (a Steelcase brand), Action, as well as in commercial use by McDonald’s, Mercedes-Benz, PepsiCo, AB InBev, and more. If you don’t see UBQ where you like to shop, just ask for it.
Not just this Earth Day, but every day
Our vision is to create a World without Waste, where human consumption lives in harmony with our planet. To do that, we are working to deliver right now material innovations that will put us on a climate-positive, sustainable path forward. We believe that UBQ can reshape how most things are made, one product at a time, every day. And we invite you to join us in that journey. Be sure to follow us on your favorite social media, and share our World of UBQ content with the people who matter to you.
What is Earth Day?
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22nd to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held in 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org, involving over 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.
The day serves as a conscious reminder of how fragile our planet is and how important it is to protect it. Earth Day focuses on promoting clean living and healthy, sustainable habits in communities worldwide. It is a day to reflect on our planet, our environment, and what we can do to help keep them healthy.
